Our Imaginary Stories

Once upon a time there was a big castle. No one would go and have a look where the ghost was. But one night, some people came. But one got tangled by a spider web. Then two got freaked out, so they went back home. It got darker and darker. Four tripped over, so they all turned back. Wooooooooo, now there were skeletons. Woo, now no one went to the horrible, scary, skeleton tower. They let the ghost boo as loud as he wanted to.
by Emily

Once upon a time there was a princess. A dragon got the princess. He locked the castle so the princess couldn't get out. A prince came to rescue the princess but the dragon was too strong. So the prince got his gun. He killed the dragon. Then the prince unlocked the tower. So the prince and princess got married. They lived happily ever after.

The Princess and the Ogre

Once upon a time there lived a princess in a kingdom but although she had everything princesses had, she was unhappy because she couldn’t get past the gate. Why can’t I pass the gate? Because there is an ogre. The princess thought there must be a way to get out the gate. She got on her white horse and she rode it to the gate. The ogre jumped out from the rocks.
“You’re not allowed past the gate,” he said.
“Well, I am a magic princess. If you let me pass, I can get you anything you want.”
“I don’t want anything,” said the ogre.
The ogre went back to his hiding place behind the rocks. But the princess was hiding behind some trees. The night fell. The princess crept closer to see what the ogre wanted. She saw the ogre looking at a picture. She crept back to the castle. The next morning, she got on her white horse and she rode it back to the gate and she said to the ogre,
“I know what you want.”
“Nobody knows my secret,” said the ogre. “Well, I will let you past,” said the ogre. The princess rode faster than the wind all the way to the other side of the mountains. She found his son and they lived happily ever after and from that day on, the ogre let everyone past the gate.

Healthy Food

We need to have healthy food because it is good for us and it makes us grow. It gives us lots of energy and makes us very strong so we can run fast.

We had a healthy food shared lunch at school - it was yummy! We ate sushi, carrot sticks, pineapple & cheese, homemade popcorn, cheese buns, pizza, cheese & ham scones, lettuce & ham sandwiches and healthy nut bikkies.

Water Pipes

Brian visited our classroom and showed us all the different sized pipes they use to get our water to our houses from the Maitai Dam. This is a big old pipe with lots of rust growing inside it! They are replacing these with plastic pipes because plastic ones don't rust.

Parents' and Grandparents' Day

We sang our favourite songs, read stories we had written about water, read story books and we danced. The folk dances we like the best are Pop Goes the Weasel and Seven Jumps. It was an exciting afternoon.
